EntSTCommunity updateMonday, October 1, 2007 ENT VS7 2007 slate postedStar Trek Enterprise Virtual Season 7 is a go! The slate of stories has been determined, and post dates have been set for 2007. You can find them here. Stories will be posted every 2 weeks starting on October 19. —Kylie Lee Posted by entarchivists @ 10:09 AM EST [Link] Sunday, January 14, 2007 Slight changes in siteThe site has been edited and trimmed. In the Graphics section, the screencaps have been removed (because of their low-quality resolution) and the links have been deleted (because most were broken). The e-mail addresses of artists have been deleted for privacy reasons and the artists linked to their bio sketch at the Warp 5 Complex. The altered artwork is still up. There is currently no Graphics editor, so this part of the site will not be updated. The Vids section has been edited to remove all links to content, as is our policy. An archive listing all vids from 2003 to 2006 is up. The advent of YouTube means that people can now host vids for free, so we encourage people to upload and view their vids there, or at a similar site. We are currently rethinking how to maintain the Vids section, which was one of the most popular areas of the site. Thanks as always to Mary C. for her work as Vids Editor! Links have been slightly updated, and Virtual Season 6 has posted its schedule for its second half. Here's to a great 2007! We're going to take up where VS5 left off, and there was a major cliffhanger! Please feel free to drop on by and join up if you want to help--or even if you just want to watch. The more, the merrier! Posted by entarchivists @ 07:43 PM EST [Link] Sunday, May 28, 2006 Vids UpdateFor the moment, I'm only going to update the new videos to the site. I haven't recieved a request in over a month, and with my 7 day work scedule, I don't have as much time to work out the scedule. So, if anyone has a request, they know where to reach me! If you have any questions, please e-mail me. Posted by entarchivists @ 11:36 AM EST [Link] Monday, May 15, 2006 Warp 5 Complex update completeThe Warp 5 Complex fanfic archive has been fully transferred to the new software. The old archive has been deleted. The last few authors with a corpus of fic are being input. We also have a few new authors at the site, so be sure to check it out. Thanks to the Warp 5 Complex admins for their ongoing acquisition acumen! We've had a few problems during the transition. Some Hotmail addresses refuse to accept e-mail generated by the fic-archiving script, which means that that authors request a password but one is never received. I theorize that Hotmail is zapping it, because other e-mail addresses work fine, and when I change author addresses to a non-Hotmail account, suddenly the author can request a password. I've figured out a way around this, so if you're affected, contact me and I'll set you up with a password. Further, some people noted that the entstcommunity domain e-mail addresses bounced. To address this, we've set up gmail addresses and published them throughout the site. Also, authors should feel free to e-mail me directly, and if I can't help you, I can forward your e-mail to the proper person. The feedback about the site has been overwhelmingly positive. Authors like the opportunity to alter their own fic, and most everybody finds the software easy to use. In addition, the security of having e-mail addresses unavailable to others has reassured many authors. We're always looking for more authors, so if you're not on Warp 5 and want to be, feel free to set up an account and upload your fic! We'd love to have it. Posted by entarchivists @ 07:11 PM EST [Link] Sunday, April 30, 2006 Happily, a couple of people have stepped up and sent me some new videos, so I have at least one new file to put up for the next few updates! But I still want more. I'm greedy that way. Just remember all of those video challenges, which have now been moved to their own page. If you have any questions, please e-mail me. Posted by entarchivists @ 10:46 PM EST [Link] Sunday, April 16, 2006 Vids Update - Need New Content! As of this update, I have been out of new videos for a solid month. Guess what that means? Everyone needs to get working on some new content. I want interview clips, TV appearances, music videos, anything you've got! And don't forget I have several months worth of video challenges that go unanswered. Come on, let's get going! If you have any questions, please e-mail me. Posted by entarchivists @ 12:58 AM EST [Link] Monday, April 10, 2006 Warp 5 Complex transferred to new softwareThe Warp 5 Complex fan fiction archive has been transferred to new software: eFiction 2.0.3. This software switch was made to allow authors to upload their own fic. The original Warp 5 Complex was mirrored and then the most recent fic from the EntST* Yahoo! lists was posted, so the new site should be up to date. Because so much of the fic we had up was archived a long time ago, we do not have current contact info for many authors. We sent out a mass e-mail to all authors archived on Warp 5 asking them to check the new site before it went live today (April 10), but we immediately got more than 80 e-mail bounces. We've done our best to update all author information, but sometimes this has simply not been possible. If you're an author on Warp 5 and you didn't get an e-mail asking you to check over the site, please e-mail the Archivist with updated information. The Archivist is also taking corrections. Authors may also log into the site themselves by requesting a password. Complete info on how to log in is in the Help FAQ. Logged-in users can update their profiles and can leave comments.
